I’m feeling a bit silly today. Instead of posting about a song that has some tremendous emotional value to me or holds precious memories, I’m posting a song that makes me smile and laugh whenever I hear it.
Harry Nilsson was certainly a versatile musician. We have some great music from him and one spectacularly bad cult flick, Son of Dracula. If you’ve never seen the movie, trust me when I say that it is probably the worst movie ever made. But it had a fantastic soundtrack and some of his greatest songs came out of it.
One of his lesser known songs is “You’re Breaking My Heart” from the “Son of Schmilsson” album. This may very well be the ultimate breakup song. Take a listen, have a laugh, and enjoy a bit of whimsy on this Wednesday.
